Tor Bay Harbour

Mariners are advised that the West of England Amateur Rowing Association Championships will take place on Saturday 22 August 2026.

The event will be based from Torre Abbey Sands, Torquay, and will consist of approximately 25 races over a distance of 1,000 metres. The racecourse will be located adjacent to Torre Abbey Sands beach & Princess Pier, Torquay.

A large number of racing craft, support boats and competitors will be operating within the vicinity of the course throughout the day.

Mariners are requested to:

• Navigate with caution in the vicinity of the racing area.
• Keep well clear of the racing fleet and associated support craft.
• Avoid creating excessive wash in the vicinity of competing craft.

Mariners are advised that the International Regulations for Preventing Collisions at Sea (COLREGs) will apply at all times during this event and all vessels remain responsible for their safe navigation.
