Tor Bay Harbour

Tor Bay Harbour Authority advises all mariners that the BYC Yacht Regatta, organised by Brixham Yacht Club, will take place within Tor Bay Waters over the weekend of 13–14 June 2026.

This event will involve multiple racing yachts manoeuvring at close quarters and at speed. Mariners are requested to navigate with caution and maintain heightened awareness throughout the event period.

Racing will take place within designated areas of Tor Bay, with courses set by the organising authority. Committee vessels, support craft, and race marks will be deployed throughout the bay.

Mariners should expect:

• Frequent course changes
• Yachts tacking and gybing in close proximity
• Concentrated activity around start and finish lines

Race management will maintain continuous VHF communications.

• Primary Working Channel: VHF M2 (P4 on Icom sets)
• Backup Channel 1: VHF 37(M)
• Backup Channel 2: VHF Ch 77
• Safety / Listening Watch: VHF Ch 16

All harbour users are reminded to maintain a listening watch on Channel 16 and comply with any safety directions issued by Tor Bay Harbour Authority or race officials.

• Mariners not participating in the regatta are requested to keep well clear of racing fleets and official race management vessels.
• Please proceed at reduced speed when passing near participating yachts or support craft to minimise wash.
• Vessels should avoid crossing start/finish lines while racing is in progress.
• Harbour Authority patrol vessels may be present to assist with traffic management and safety oversight.
