Partial collapse of obsolete fuel Jetty - Brixham Harbour

Fishing gear left alongside at Brixham Harbour

From 14 January 2020

For the attention of owners and masters of commercial fishing vessels:

It has been noted that several commercial fishing vessels have left derricks, dredges or tipping doors while berthed alongside unless they are actively being worked upon.

This is not permitted as it poses a danger to other vessels attempting to moor outboard and is a breach of byelaw 42 which states “all trawl boards, beams and other gear which might cause damage shall be stowed inboard before entering or leaving an enclosed harbour”.
