The Topper dinghy is an RYA Youth sailing dinghy which at its core is a fun beach boat for ‘mucking about in boats’ but also attracts huge racing fleets at International and National events. Numerous Olympic Gold medallists cut their teeth as juniors in the Topper class including Giles Scott.
In October Brixham Yacht club will play host to one of the Topper South West traveller events. Saturday will be a coaching ran by the Andrew Simpson Performance Academy, offering professional coaching for all ability levels, while on the Sunday Brixham Yacht Club will host a mini regatta of 4 races and this will be part of the SW traveller series which includes sailors from Land End in the West to the Cotswolds in the North East of the region and Poole in the South East.
The weekend will cater for sailors beginning their journey into sailing and also sailors who are well along their sailing development and are already achieving top results at National level.
