An increasing number of Cruise Ships now feature Tor Bay in their cruising itinerary. The English Riviera has so much to offer the passing tourist and Torquay is strategically placed for various cruises - Round Britain, Trans-Atlantic and European positioning, 100 nautical miles from Southampton and 200 nautical miles from Dover.
Ships generally anchor approximately ½ mile South West of Torquay Harbour, with tenders landing at Torquay. Passengers disembark on Beacon Quay or Haldon Pier and can sample the delights of local shops and cafes or opt for range of interesting coach excursion options.
In summer 2018, TUI welcomed Marella Explorer to their fleet. The ship stepped up to the plate, with a bumper batch of 10 restaurants and 10 bars. There's also an indoor cinema, a Sports & Family Deck and a Champneys spa, along with many other facilities onboard.
The cruise ship has 13 decks, 962 cabins with a capacity of 1,924 passengers.
