Changes to Housing Benefits

Housing and Council Tax Benefits are means tested benefits administered by Torbay Council on behalf of the Department for Work and Pensions opens in a new window. These benefit schemes are specially designed to help people who are unemployed or on low incomes to pay their rent and Council Tax. Connections & Call Centre offices are able to offer benefits advice and assistance.
Housing Benefit is changing from 1 January 2012 for single people aged 25 to 34 who rent from a private landlord.
