Torbay Freight Quality Partnership

Torbay Council now has a Local Transport Plan Strategy for Heavy Goods Vehicles, as approved by Cabinet meeting of 11 March 2003. An important part of the Strategy is the formation of a Freight Quality Partnership with local and regional stakeholders, with the aim of developing an understanding of freight distribution issues and problems and to promote constructive solutions which reconcile the need for access to goods and services with local environmental and social concerns.

The Freight Quality Partnership has produced a map and guide for goods vehicle drivers.

Torbay Council was invited to participate in the successful Newton Abbot Freight Quality Partnership which now features in the Department for Transport's Good Practice Case Study Guide.

For a Good Practice Guide and Case Studies visit the DFT website.

For further information on the Freight Quality Partnership contact the Strategic Transportation Planning Team.

Torbay Freight Quality Partnership has been merged with Freight Quality Partnerships in Newton Abbot and the South Hams, to form a South Devon Freight Quality Partnership, in partnership with Devon County Council. The same contact details apply as given above.
