Torbay Cycle Forum

The Torbay Cycle Forum’s purpose is to help shape and inform local cycling policy and submit ideas on improving cycling infrastructure around Torbay. There is no set criteria to be a member of the forum – just a willingness to participate and to offer up ideas and suggestions that will help the cyclist in Torbay.

Purpose

  • Promote cycling in all forms throughout Torbay.
  • Inform cycling policy and improve infrastructure.
  • Increase awareness of cycling as viable local transport.
  • Promote cycling as an excellent way of keeping fit and improving health.
  • Educate parents and children and promote cycling as a life skill.
  • Develop and maintain close links with all cycling clubs – local and national.
  • Promote sport cycling and encourage young people to participate through links with British Cycling, local clubs and schools.

Membership

  • Local cycle club members.
  • Local cycle trade proprietors, directors and staff.
  • Local government employees from transport and highways.
  • Local cycling enthusiasts.
  • Local people who want to make a difference and have some influence over local issues.

Meetings

Open public bi-monthly meetings held in Oldway Mansion.Dates for 2008 are:

  • February 6
  • April 2
  • June 4
  • August 6
  • October 8
  • December 3

Meetings start at 18:30 to finish at 20:00
