More and more people are discovering or re-discovering cycling in Torbay. Whether you cycle to work or for pleasure with your family, cycling is a great way of keeping fit and getting about without relying on cars or buses
The government is increasing awareness of our responsibilities to the environment and our own personal fitness and wellbeing and cycling forms a very important part of that strategy.

Our local transport plan for 2006 – 2011 encompasses national policy and develops a strategy for Torbay for the next five years. The 2004 Government white paper "The Future of Transport – A Network for 2030" cites walking and cycling as key alternatives for making small, local journeys. The Department of Health white paper "Choosing Health – Making Health Choices Easier" clearly identifies walking and cycling as playing key roles in:
