Latest News

10th March 2010

The 2010 Maritime Events list has now been compiled and is available to view towards the bottom of this page.
Please be aware that all registered event organizers will now be contacted by the relevant Harbour Office to arrange a meeting, to discuss their event and safety requirements further.
The events list has now been printed and if you wish to be sent a hard copy please contact your nearest Harbour Office or Tourism Office.

Events

Every year Tor Bay Harbour plays host to over 30 Maritime Events on and off the water ranging from various sailing events to major powerboat events.  Many clubs and organisations choose Tor Bay for their events as it is a prime sheltered location.  The Bay is a favourite with tourists and visitors too, as the Maritime Events can be seen from practically anywhere on the Bay's 22 miles of coastline.  It almost acts like an amphitheatre with the sea being the stage.  2010 will see more events being staged than previous years as the location is becoming more and more popular due to the good facilities and great location.
The current Maritime Events list for 2010 is available to download from Related Documents at the bottom of this page.

Boat Users

We would recommend for safety reasons if you are intending to use your boat within Torbay on the day of an event you should check for safety notices (HM Notices) refering to forthcoming maritime events which take place on the water.   Or please feel free to contact your nearest Harbour Office.

Maritime Event Organizers

If you are intending to run an event within the Tor Bay Harbour Limits then there are a few important points to consider.
Firstly you are legally obliged to inform the Tor Bay Harbour Authority if you intend running a Maritime Event and the starting point for this is to complete the form below and send it to the nearest Harbour Office within Torbay.
On this form you will see some important prompts which you will need to meet in order for your event to run safely.  Following your submisssion of this form you will then be contacted by the relevant Harbour Office to arrange an initial meeting to discuss your planned Maritime Event further.
Any organizer who does not meet the correct safety requirements or who does not satisify the other organisational requirements needed will not be allowed to run an event with the Tor Bay Habour Limits.
Any event registered after the 1st March 2010 will not be included in the 2010 Tor bay Harbour Maritime Events List.
