Residents in Torbay have a wheeled bin for residual (non-recyclable) waste, which will be collected fortnightly OR if you don’t have room for a wheeled bin then you will have a weekly collection using Seagull Proof Bags.
When you have recycled everything you can in your Recycling Boxes, put what is left in your residual (non-recyclable) grey bin. This includes the following:
- Non packaging plastic eg toys, washing up bottles and plant pots.
- Polystyrene
- Black plastic food trays
- Crisp packets
- Plastic film e.g. cling film, plastic shopping bags and crisp packets
- Wallpaper
- Polystyrene egg boxes
Items that are NOT collected and should NOT be placed in either bin are:
- hardcore and rubble
- hazardous waste e.g. asbestos and plasterboard.
Special Collections
Bulky items, such as furniture, fridges, carpets, garden waste etc can be collected for a small charge, by arrangement. As many of these items as possible will be collected.
