A Renewal of vows is a ceremony for any couple who are married or had a Civil Partnership wishing to renew their commitment to each other in a unique and personal ceremony.
They may be celebrating a special anniversary, or may have had their ceremony abroad and wish to have a special event for their family and friends on their return.
Whatever the reason a couple wish to renew their vows, each ceremony is truly unique to that couple.
What does the ceremony include?
Each couple are given several options to create a ceremony fitting for them. This may include an exchange of rings or gifts. renewal vows, acknowledgement of any children, poetry or prose, some words spoken by one of your guests from your previous ceremony or music.
How long will the ceremony take?
Usually between 15 and 30 minutes duration, depending on the ceremony chosen by the couple.
Who will conduct the ceremony?
A celebrant will help you with your initial enquiry and at each stage through to conducting the ceremony on your special day. Here at Torbay Register Office, our dedicated team will discuss your requirements and plan the ceremony with you to include all the elements which go towards tailor making the ceremony for you.
Fees Charges and Venues
The fee for our ceremonies is £160 inclusive of VAT. The ceremony can be held at Oldway Mansion or at any Approved Premises in Torbay.
Booking a Ceremony
For further information on renewing your vows or to book a ceremony contact Torbay Register Office. The celebrant will need to see your Marriage Certificate before a ceremony can be booked.
Important notice
Neither the Renewal of Vows Ceremony nor any document issued following the ceremony has any legal status. Whilst Renewal of Vows Ceremonies may be carried out in buildings known as Register Offices, they are designated as private venues during these ceremonies.
