Funding News!

Futurebuilders England

Launched on 5 May and now open for applications this is a new £125 million Government investment fund to help approximately 250 voluntary and community sector (VCS) organisations increase their role in the delivery of public services.  The Fund is intended to transform the capacity of some individual organisations, or groups of organisations working together, to engage in public service delivery; and to capitalise on the sector’s distinctive contribution to service delivery and ability to be creative.

Overall, Futurebuilders England has a split of 80% (£100 million) capital and 20% (£25 million) revenue funding.  Investment packages will usually comprise loans, grants and capacity building elements and will range from a minimum of £30,000 up to a maximum of circa £10 million. Approximately 100 development grants of up to a maximum of £10,000 are also available to help organisations work up their applications.

More details on what the fund will do and who it will support are available from the Futurebuilders England website or a brief Q & A is available from Torbay Development Agency.

There will be a series of application windows when organisations will be able to apply to Futurebuilders England.  The deadline for applications to the first window is 31 October 2004. The second application window is expected to open between March and July 2005.
